How KvK works

Entry
City in a tribe + Chief's Hall: 20 (S1) / 22 (S2) / 23 (S3) / 24 (later). While the city is in KvK you cannot leave the tribe. Some heroes are banned per season "for fair competition".
Matchmaking
"Intent Survey": preview candidates by Might → Kings vote (cooperation/confrontation) → groups announced.
Three periods
Preparation (front-event buffs) → Battle (all points here) → Settlement (rewards by mail, then a 7-day season summon).
Chronicles
18–25 stages per season; each stage instantly unlocks map content: fortresses, passes, bosses, Sacred Lands and, near the finale, the central Wonder.
Passes & piers
Transport hubs between districts. Three access states: protected → one direction → fully open. You can only attack from an adjacent tribe territory.
Sacred Lands & Wonder
Lvl 5–7 buildings give points and stacking buffs; lvl 8 is the season's central Wonder with the strongest buffs. Capturing it affects the whole kingdom's rewards.
⚠️ Key rule: in battles for the central Wonder severely wounded troops DIE (they do not go to the infirmary), and catapult towers in the corners hit defenders every ~5 minutes. Count your losses in advance.

FAQ

What is KvK in Viking Rise?
KvK (Kingdom vs Kingdom, "Kingdom Mayhem") is a seasonal clash: several kingdoms are moved to a separate map and fight for points, wonders and rewards. A season runs in chronicle stages and ends with a merit tally.
What Chief's Hall level do you need for KvK?
Depends on the season: S1 Svartalfheim — Hall 20, S2 England — 22, S3 Asgard — 23, S4 and all later seasons — 24. The city must be in a tribe to take part.
How are opponents chosen in KvK?
Before a season there is an "Intent Survey": kingdoms are ranked by Might, Kings vote for cooperation or confrontation with candidates, then the system announces groups of comparable-strength kingdoms.
Why do troops die at the Wonder?
A special rule of the central Wonder (Eternal City, Windsor, etc.): in battles for it ALL severely wounded troops die instead of going to the infirmary. Plus catapult towers in the corners hit defenders every ~5 minutes. Storming the Wonder is the priciest fighting of the season.
What do military merit medals give?
Medals are awarded for killing troops of other kingdoms (low troop tiers give no medals) and are spent in merit shops. Personal season rewards depend on your merit rank; kingdoms with zero merit get no rewards.
